Whatever side of the spectrum you hold, it is important to follow what works for your hair and what your lifestyle can maintain.

Today has been an amazing day! I spent the day with my mom and the rest of my family this weekend and it was an awesome weekend. I hope you all got a chance to spend time with the ones you love and surround yourself with positive energy and lots of laughter. To all my mothers, I hope you enjoyed your day. You are truly godsends to the world and a day isn't enough to show our appreciation. You are magnificent,  awesome, wonderful, amazing, and all the other words that mean great. And to my mom, who is all of those words and more, my heart is filled with joy knowing that she is my mom. I don't know what I did in this life that I was blessed with her as my mom but I'm grateful. And to my sister who is the second greatest mom in the world, I see firsthand how hard she works and how much she loves her kids. And if she doesn't hear it  enough, I respect her so much as a mom. She is my shero! And one day I hope to be as great of a mom as my mom and my sister. So again, happy mother's day ladies; you deserve all the love you receive today and so much more.

Product Review: Jane Carter Nourish and Shine

Hola Chicas and Chicos! Happy Monday to you! So during the natural hair show I scooped up the Jane Carter Nourish and Shine. I've heard good reviews about this product and I was in desperate need of a shine pomade. Since coloring my hair I have been experiencing drier hair; which is to be expected. And this product looked promising, it says it will quench dry curls and give a good shine. I had previously purchased the Oyin pomade in berry. And while it smelled wonderful, I didn't get the shine I wanted.

Clarifying To Get Shiny Hair

I got my hair swag back! I clarified my hair yesterday and my shine and springy coils are back! No more deva curl! My decision to stop using certain products two years ago was in part because I hated my hair to have that coated feeling. And certain ingredients really left my hair feeling stiff, tangled, and dull. So I gravitated toward a modified Curly Girl Method.
